Wishing Star Foundation
We're thrilled to announce our new partnership with Wishing Star and KXLY! At Whitaker Family Furniture, family is at the heart of everything we do.
That's why we're committed to supporting our community in the same way they've supported us.Through this partnership, we'll be joining Wishing Star's efforts in granting wishes for sick and terminally ill children in the Spokane area. But it doesn't stop there!
We'll also be supporting them with additional expenses beyond the initial wish.Stay tuned for more updates coming near the end of April as we embark on this journey together. Together, we can make a difference!
From Our Family to Yours
A Note From the Whitakers
We knew early on that we had the heart to help people. We were married and soon we had two children. We were working in a furniture store, and were helping low-income families find housing and furnishings.
We had a good friend tell us about a furniture store on Monroe that was for sale, and this friend suggested we check it out. We weren’t too sure about buying a store, but we decided to offer to manage it short-term. It wasn’t two weeks in that we fell in love with this store.
We realized that with this store we could blend what we’d become skilled at: helping families and selling furniture. We were hooked.
We bought the store only a few weeks after getting involved. Since then, we have transformed it from a store to a place where families can find quality affordable furnishings that help build family memories for years to come.
We know, being a young family ourselves, the pull to provide for your family but being limited by finances. We didn’t want that to be an obstacle. That’s why we’ve partnered with several organizations to make sure that every family has a chance to furnish their homes with quality items.
We want to be a blessing wherever we can. Owning this store has given us the opportunity to reach outside our walls and partner with local ministries that serve women and children who are struggling. It’s amazing to see how God made our dreams a reality.
